      <image:title>Services - Individual therapy with adults:   Dr. Guz provides an empathic and safe environment where patients can process their triumphs and their pains, and where they can seek to fully understand themselves, while moving towards their goals. In sessions, Dr. Guz will collaborate with patients to set personalized objectives, build skills to manage stress, and further develop their strengths. Patients will learn how to address unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that underpin the enduring patterns that can lead to suffering. From this space, patients will have an opportunity to feel deeply understood, energized, and motivated to develop healthier patterns to build a values-based life that feels meaningful for them.   Individual therapy with children and adolescents:   In her work with children and adolescents (ages 11+), Dr. Guz creates a warm and playful space, in which she aims to deeply understand young people’s unique set of circumstances and concerns. Dr. Guz works with children to foster their strengths and resilience, while teaching them skills and strategies to regulate emotions, communicate, and explore their growing identities. Dr. Guz may include caregivers in the therapy to support healthy family dynamics. Dr. Guz also works extensively with children who have experienced sexual assault and interpersonal violence.   Couples therapy:   Dr. Guz utilizes Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in her work with couples. EFT is an attachment-based therapy with a strong scientific base. EFT emphasizes how problematic patterns in relationships impact security and trust. With Dr. Guz, couples learn to identify and change cycles of distress in their relationship and move towards healthy patterns of communication. While working with current distress, these patterns are understood and shifted in order to build closeness, connection, and safety. Supervision &amp; Consultation for Therapists: Dr. Guz offers ongoing supervision with a flexible structure ranging from weekly to as needed. Individual supervision is a helpful and necessary tool for those who are interested in growing as a therapist. We will focus on your personal style combined with cognitive behavioral therapy and 3rd wave treatments. You will receive detailed guidance on conceptualization, interventions, diagnostic issues, and documentation.</image:title>

      <image:caption>What to Expect To begin, you can be in touch by email or phone for a free 15-minute consultation. During this call, you will have an opportunity to describe why you are seeking therapy and what you might be looking for. We will discuss fees and an initial appointment will be scheduled, if we decide we might be a good fit. Psychotherapy Sessions:  Dr. Guz is licensed to practice in New York and offers virtual psychotherapy sessions. Sessions are 45-50 minutes in length, once a week. The initial intake assessment sessions will follow up from the phone consultation, to learn more about your concerns, goals for treatment, and your background. As I learn about you, I will share my impressions and recommendations for a personalized plan for treatment. Rates: Fees will be discussed during the initial phone call. Payment: Credit cards or electronic transfers. Insurance: Dr. Guz is considered an “out-of-network” provider and does not accept insurance. Monthly, you will receive a bill that contains all the information necessary for you to receive reimbursement from your health insurance company, if you have behavioral health benefits. Questions to ask your insurance company to determine if you have coverage: Am I covered for out-of-network behavioral health or mental health services? How much of the fee does my insurance cover for an out-of-network provider? (usually a percentage) What does my insurance company consider to be the max allowable charge for a 50-minute therapy session? Are there any limitations to session length or number of sessions?</image:caption>
